We’ve been getting ourselves ready for this day since January when BMW announced that the i8 will be retiring in April and it that day has finally arrived! The last i8 rolled off of the assembly line on Thursday 11th of June, at BMW’s Leipzip factory.
The last i8 Roadster got treated to a special Portimao Blue paint finish and will be delivered to its lucky owner in Lower Saxony.
BMW introduced the i8 production model back in 2013 and since then, 20,448 cars have left the factory.
During BMW’s announcement for discontinuing of the i8 earlier in 2020, it was decided that they would end production by April. But due to coronavirus outbreak, the end of production was postponed to June.
Farewell, beautiful i8. We’ll miss you buddy.
